After reading this guide, you will be able to start using the features of HDE Secure Transfer User Console such as Sending Files, Receiving Files, Managing and Monitoring Sent Files.

The guide contains four parts:

1) Sending Files

2) Receiving Files

3) Email Notification Settings

4) Management (Access Log)

1) Sending Files

Step 1 Log in to your Secure Transfer User Console

https://upload.hdedrive.com/ui/yourdomain.com/upload

Step 2 - In the Secure Transfer user console interface, in "Send" -> "Send Files".

First, choose the file that you want to send. Please note that you can upload up to five files per transfer.

Second, generate a random password and this password will be required while unlocking the file.

Then, select an amount of time for the file to be available before it is no longer available.

You could add a memo to allow the receiver to have a brief idea about the file.

Finally, click "Upload" to finish the uploading process.

Step 3 - After the file is being uploaded, a few lines of texts are generated for the sender to easily communicate the link to download and the password to unlock the particular file. A dedicated button is also available in the interface for the sender to easily compose an email that contains same exact lines of texts as shown as below.

Step 4 - Click on "Sent Files", you will be able to see the list of sent files. If you wish to stop anyone from downloading the uploaded file and ensure that the file is no longer available on the Secure Transfer, you could click on "Disable" as shown as below.

Click on a sent file you will be able to see the details such as the link, password, when was it uploaded or is going to expire and more.

2) Receiving Files

Step 1 In the Secure Transfer user console interface, in "Receive" -> "Request Files".

First, enter the name of the Requester that you want to show when the file sender receives the request.

Second, write a message to allow the sender to have an idea of the request.

You could add a memo to allow the receiver to have a brief idea about the file.

Then, select an amount of time for the file to be available before it is no longer available.

Finally, click "Next" to finish the Requesting process.

Step 2 After the request is being generated, a few lines of texts are generated for the requester to easily communicate the link to upload and the message to guest. A dedicated button is also available in the interface for the requester to easily compose an email that contains same exact lines of texts as shown as below.

Step 3 After the requester has sent the request via email to the file uploader, the file uploader should receive an email that looks similar as shown as below. Then, the file uploader could click on the link.

Step 4 - Upon opening the link, the uploader will be able to see an interface to upload the file requested.

After the file has been uploaded, the uploader will receive a success notification.

Step 5 - Returning to the Secure Transfer user console interface, the receiver is now able to go to the "Received Files" interface to find a "Sharing URL" that allows the receiver to share the file to another receiver within the same domain if desired. Also, a direct download could be achieved by clicking "Download".

3) Email Notification Settings

All users could configure settings to enable the system to send notification email to themselves to ensure that they are notified when HDE Secure Transfer related actions were performed.

In Email Notification Settings interface, the user could specify the notification email's "Subject" title,

4) Management (Access Logs)

The Access Logs can be found by clicking on the "Management" on the sidebar. Every time when someone accesses the files that you have uploaded to the HDE Secure Transfer, a log record will be generated and it can be found in the Access Logs. This is extremely useful to trace the access activities that are performed by authorised receivers.
