What are the types of typical error emails?

For Google Apps.

For Office 365.

Question:

What are the types of typical error emails?

Answer:

To check the contents of error e-mails, we may find the causes of errors in the early stages.

When you inquire to our support team, we strongly recommend you to check whether the symptoms of the typical error e-mails and your case are matched, for the case we need time until the reply.

The error e-mails are messages that are automatically sent back from the e-mail server.

And they will be sent to you when the e-mails you sent did not delivery to the destination for any reasons. In many cases, there are reasons of the errors in the messages. You could check the key word to match up with your case.

- User Unknown

The message is sent back if user name of destination e-mail address, the front of the part than "@", does not exist.
The main causes are such as the mistyping of the destination e-mail address or the e-mail address that does not already exist.
Please reconfirm the destination e-mail address, and attempt to send your message again.

e.g.)

<xxxxxx@hde.co.jp>: host aspmx.l.google.com[xx.xxx.xx.xx] said: 550-5.1.1
The e-mail account that you tried to reach does not exist. Please try
550-5.1.1 double-checking the recipient's e-mail address for typos or
550-5.1.1 unnecessary spaces. Learn more at 550 5.1.1

va10si13138376pbc.188 - gsmtp (in reply to RCPT TO command)

e.g.)

 Diagnostic information for administrators:
 Generation server: xxxxxxxx.prod.outlook.com
 xxxx.xxxx@xxxx.co.jp
Remote Server returned '550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.RecipNotFound; not found'

- Host Unknown

The message is sent back if host name of destination e-mail address, the back of the part than "@", does not existed.
The main causes are such as the mistyping of the destination e-mail address or the e-mail address that does not already exist.
Please reconfirm the destination e-mail address, and attempt to send your message again.

e.g.)

<xxxx.xxxx@xxxx.co.jpp>: Host or domain name not found. Name service error for name=xxxx.co.jpp type=A: Host not found
Final-Recipient: rfc822; xxxx.xxxx@xxxx.co.jpp
Action: failed
Status: 5.4.4
Diagnostic-Code: X-xxxx-mf-postfix; Host or domain name not found. Name service error for name=xxxx.co.jpp type=A: Host not found

e.g.)

Diagnostic information for administrators:
Generation server: xxxx.jp
xxxx.xxxx@xxxx.co.jp
Remote Server returned '< #5.4.4 X-Postfix; Host or domain name not found.
Name service error for name=xxxx.co.jpp type=A: Host not found>'

- Exceeds Maximum Size

The message is sent back if the size of the e-mail you sent (including attachments) exceeds the file size limit by the destination server.
Please upload your files to the storage services such as HDE online storage and Google Drive, and resend the e-mail with the size of the e-mail reduced.

e.g.)

The error that the other server returned was: 552 552 message size exceeds maximum size (state 18).

e.g.)

552 sorry, that message size exceeds my databytes limit

- Disk Full

The message is sent back if the capacity of the destination user's e-mailbox is full.
The main cause of not being able to deliver your e-mail is destination user's e-mailbox (or e-mail spool) has become a capacity excess.
Please ask to delete the e-mails on the server to destination user, and attempt to send your message again.

e.g.)

host xxxx.aspmx.l.google.com[74.125.142.27]
said: 452-4.2.2 The e-mail account that you tried to reach is over quota.
Please direct 452-4.2.2 the recipient to 452 4.2.2
